I'm averaging about 2500 miles a week. My truck is a 2008 International ProStar with about 360k miles on it. Its an auto which I hate but I can live with it for now.

The only real problem I have with it is the Icon Idle malfunctions a couple of times a night. I have to get up and reset it. The good news is the company is phasing out trucks with Icons over the next year. Replacing them with TriPacs APU. I was told to expect a new truck anywhere from 6-12 months. I can live with it as long as the miles keep coming.

USA is phasing out the Autos but will take a couple of years. You will probably get an Auto as your first truck.

Yup, it's true. I switched out of my old beast a few months back; all the newer replacements were 10-speed manuals.
