Just saw this thread. Any United Petroleum Transport/Oklahoma Tank Lines drivers here?

I was leased to UPT the last 3+ years.

Dear hubby is otr with Covenant right now but he is a newbie (less than 4 months).

I see that most companies require 2 years verfiable otr but are the any out there who do not? He is interested in hauling fuel. We had a neighbor who used to haul fuel. Unfortunately, he was always bone weary teary and had a penchant for driving even when he was worn out. It cost him his life and the life of his son when he fell asleep behind the wheel of his car with his kids onboard.

Just took a road test and signed all the back ground forms today for Williams Tank Lines out of Stockton, CA. This will be my first fuel/Hazmat job.

So I suspect I'll be working with them in the next two or three weeks. They have already called my current employer.

Does anyone know which companies have terminals in the Amarillo/Borger TX panhandle area? My husband is currently with OTL/UPT but we want someone that pays hourly and not by the load, he's got a squeaky clean driving record and almost 5 years experience (4 years OTR dryvan and 1 year regional tanker/hazmat).

i started this thread awhile back but haven't been her in a minute. although gas hauling in the Atlanta metro area has changed it still isn't a bad gig. bp sold there business out to explorers trans and Mansfield oil so there are only a couple of elite fuel hauling jobs around this area. i tried to get on with air products but i was told it takes 5-10 yrs to get wknds off or a monday through fri route!!! wow!! i have a month of working weekends and a month of having weekends of with my current employer. although my pay dropped from $65,000 to $57,500 it still isn't bad at all to be at home everyday.

$57,500...Give me some cost of living examples please. What does it cost to buy or rent a house in a nice area (No drugs/thugs/gangs) where a person WANTS to raise a family? Thanks.
