While in Louisville I took this pic of the USDOT's Chevy Tahoe. As I was walking off one of the people in the booth handed me some papers with truck crash stats along with some other stuff that I haven't had a chance to read yet. I said to the gentlemen "My truck would really look good with limo tent like ya'll have on that Tahoe" his reply was "we have alot of sensitive equipment in there and tent on a CMV is a safety concern". I walked off saying " do as I say, not as I do".

    In KY it's tent. :biggrin_255:

The law is above the law they protect. You should know that by now! :)

There was a recent story on the news here, officers were parked on grass while writing tickets for people parking on the grass....major uprising is occurring...lol also an issue with the officers not wearing seatbelts because all of their "equipment" gets tangled in them..

Here's something to consider. Ever worn a bullet proof vest, 20 pounds of gear, and all polyester shirt and pants, with boots tucked in all day in the southeast in 95 degree temperatures in 90 percent humidity? If the answer is no, then I can tell you that its nice to have dark window tint. What does someone have to hide with dark tinted windows? Perhaps a 9mm pistol waiting at the ready as the officer approaches, since he can't see inside? I could scenario this more and more, but you get the point. Also, there is a lot of valuable equipment very sensitive to law enforcement in some vehicles.

Police vehicles aren't CMVs... what's the question? Put tint on your pickup or car, just not on your big truck.

I'm sure drivers would appreciate that tint when they are sitting in that heat and not being allowed to idle their truck to keep cool.

You said that like somebody actually cares about what happens to a truck driver. We are just an expendable part of business remember?
