Laird's website had a cutting chart. Just go to the website of your antenna base manufacturer.

I've never had need for a VHF. As has already been stated, for the most part on the CB it's 19 from BC to the Quebec border, then 1 the rest of the way. Once I'm down in the US, I usually have it turned down because of all the Radio Rambos out there, ESPECIALLY near large urban centers.

Well for me VHF is the only way. I travel up to the Yukon on a regular basis. 1 out of a 100 trucks up north run a CB.
-
They just banned CBs in Alberta for recreational use. And now have given Compliance the ability to decide whether professional drivers are using their CBs for work or #### chat. If they deem the conversation is NOT work related, they can fine them $172!
Nuts huh? This is all under the distracted driving law that is to be implemented in a few months. Its NOT the same as texting.
Just my opinion.

I'm sure it will be selective enforcement, at best.dotzguy Thanks this. -
Well if a person uses their head, you won't get caught. Personally i only use my radio when out on the open road. If you use it in town and get in an accident then they will come down on ya.
