    Hey Jojo.
On the CSA points. It will not be very many and I would not worry about them too much. But he can go into the DATA Q system with the FMCSA and try and get the points removed. Just send in the required information and explain the situation.
I would give him a 50% chance of removal.
Trainer should have to pay 100% of the ticket if they had a fine on it. Training dept will garnish the trainers pay for it if it is not done automatically.

I would look for another trainer for a few weeks.
This is not a "safe" job. It can be very risky at times and you can hold allot of liability.
He really needs to get more practice with backing, trip planning, doing paperwork and qualcom messages.
If he does not learn this now he will not last 6 months.

You will need some money for food. At least a few weeks worth.
You will need to pay for your CDL, this can range in price from state to state.
You will need to have a permit from the state you go to school. So you will probably have to pay for that again and test again. Unless they get a school in LA.
Central also has you pay like 100 bucks for your testing.
So you may need a little more than 600 bucks.

Didn't think they still had any with the Volvo Engines....
All the ones I've looked at have had Cummings in them.

Safety is a JOKE! they will just accuse him of not doing a proper PTI.

But yes! call training. That truck needs to be off the road till it is leagal.
Yes, there will be points on his CSA. If it was an inspection the points will stay on CSA and not go to the state DMV. At least mine didn't.
I got a ticket in my trainers truck, and I ended up with 39 points.

No-one can really tell me what the CSA is for. It seems they are only used by the Feds to track violations and by companies "IF" they want to get rid of you or not hire you.
The States don't seem to care about any CSA points or violations.... or at least California doesn't.

The company's CSA points are for their safety rating.
The driver gets points on his PSP or Pre Employment screening Program.
Some company's are setting random numbers of around 70-120 for the max points they want drivers to have.
The feds and states are not using the drivers numbers for much. If a driver has a of them, meaning in the hundreds, they will look at that drivers info more when they do interventions on the company.
The company keeps any points for 2 years. The driver for 3.
You can get 1,000,000 points and it will not effect your license. But nobody would hire you.

If you are going to a Central school, and live in the state where that school is, then I would get my permit before going to school.

If you live in a state that Central does not have a school, and plan to go to Central. Then wait till you get to school and get the permit.

I would not send my worse enemy to England or Werner.
Swift is a good call, so is Roehl.
