The thought of doing this crossed my mind? Does anyone know of a legitimate or worth while company for a lease purchase plan? Can money be made? Is it tough?

It is tough, and most plans are totally set up so you fail.
Also they word the agreement that they can end the agreement at any time for any reason. And when this occurs they keep the truck.
One of the better ones seems to be at Crete, at least from what I have read here and by looking at the company's program.
I would not do it for a new truck though. I would buy one of their old trucks. It is not really a lease purchase at Crete. It is a purchase. You are buying one of the older company trucks.
It is about the best I have seen for an actual purchase program from a company, and fairly fair.quicksteed Thanks this. -
Get some experience first, is what I would advise. If after atleast 2-3 years you want to lease, and you've read alot of lease purchase posts on here, then you can make a more informed decision.

Personally, after seeing what goes on with lease/purchase plans over the years at various companies, I would stay away from it.
That being said, the best way to get a truck is to buy it from a dealer or owner. The next best way, for those that have bad credit or whatever, to get into a truck is to use someone like Lone Mountain Truck Leasing. You can google them. They do lease to buy with used fleet trucks. I have heard more good than bad about them. And it has nothing to do with who you are going to put the truck on with. They are their own operation and they could care less who you pull for. Most of their stuff from what I have seen is set up on 36 mo plans. Very little down, somewhat reasonable monthly payments, and no buyout at the end of the lease. Pricing is only a little higher than a deal you could negotiate at a dealer for the same type of truck they offer. But, from what I have heard from some, Lone Mountain will negotiate a little sometimes.
Just an idea for you to ponder. At least if who you are pulling for goes south, or you want to leave, then you can take your truck wherever you choose.quicksteed and TexasMike Thank this.
