if we knew half of the tricks that the dot guys already know ---it would be a dangerous road
but like redd said--do it legal--you will live a lot longer--why kill yourself to make a tiny bit more ,just so you can pay more taxrocknroll81 and U4EA Thank this. -
Once upon a time, a guy that looked a lot like me used to spend half the day loading and drove half a day, but on the next day finished driving the other half, and then drove a full day.
But now in the Land of Oz I have a spy in the sky that I must stay in agreement with, so the 1000+ miles in a day are now in the good old day stories somewhere this side of cabovers.U4EA Thanks this. -
I agree with Redd. I started doing oversize three years ago this week and at that point all we had to match was our fuel stops using loose leaf log books. Day didnt go my way, tear it out and start over. Then a year ago they started matching our ez pass to our logs, still some fudge room. Then they told us "we are matching your qualcom to your logs". I doubt that because if they were I wouldnt be getting clean log reports every month. Four months ago we were told they are starting to install electronic logs and from that day forward I started logging it as I did it. It isnt worth it.
U4EA Thanks this. -
If you use a fuel card, you get time stamped every time you use it. My fuel stops have to match up, too. So pretty much everyone has that ball and chain to wear, unless they'e fortunate enough to be able to pay for their fuel in cash (if you're able to, please tell me how you're able to do it). I really don't want to say much more, especially in the public domain... part of the reason being that I don't want to encourage anyone to take that risk.
U4EA Thanks this. -
Back in the late '70's-early 80's when i was a new breeder and learning THE way, i came across an open coup and pulled in, DOT cop asked me for my log book, i said sure which one, geez, talk about learning the hard way.
U4EA Thanks this. -
I'm totally against creating a false log, but if you're going to do it at least put the effort in to make it look good. Having your daily average come back at 82 MPH is kind of retarded. It's not that hard to make a log book match your time stamped receipts.
Just be aware of the big accident, most trucks have some sort of GPS tracking on them. Same with that phone, and watch out for those cameras everywhere. -
Sooner or later you will get caught.Lets hope its not after a major accident and they throw away the key.Just sayin.

panhandlepat and U4EA Thank this.

Who me--what kind of question is that? I am a law abiding--non violent--upstanding citizen.
But since all you experienced high falutin northern types--that operate on a totally different set of rules--utilizing a numerical system--that is just short of terroristic not to mention anti AMERICAN and possibly even subversive--seem to have an answer to everything--i will gladly listen to your hairbrained explaination of how you feel it can and should be done--I will happily tell you..................................
Nah never mind I don't really care LMAO

U4EA, Boardhauler and trucker_101 Thank this.
