I'm sorry about what you are going through i Have been with Swift 10 + years and I have seen a lot of good drivers turn bad once they go the title O/O. I train myself and if I ever do get to go home by chance during the middle of the week I always park at a truck stop and have my wife come and get me. I don't ever leave a Man stranded like that. I wouldn't worry if he didn't come and get you but I would call your home terminal and let them know that you did not quit and that you had to put yourself in a motel so that you could have the comforts of life seeing how your mentor was treating you like no let me refrase that worse than a dog. But always cover your back trail. nobody else is going to do it for you. Keep it documented and like they said call driver services and let the know first thing. Myself i would also request another mentor and he needs to learn what the word means.
scottied67 and tazaaa Thank this. -
Well well well wouldn't you know it out of all the drivers I get a random today that took me two hours to complete and blew my pre=plan to El Paso right out the window.
Had to bobtail in traffic through downtown Albuquerque and then had to drive to deliver my load. By the time I got done not enough time to make my pickup for new load so it got taken off me. Now I will sit until the am because my 14 is up.
not a big deal as I don't like El Paso on the weekends. Plus can now get some clothes washed and play around in the truck for a few hours before going to bed. Man this Albuquerque terminal is boring! It's dead here not a single driver in the smoking area?
They all must be old men and asleep before 8PM. #### don't get to hear any crazy trucker stories and drivers complaining. Oh well headed to Texas hopefully sometime this week for some beach time over next weekend.
get to see my kiddos can't wait!
Things still going great here at Swift still getting plenty of miles and enjoying the ride. Hope everyone is well and be safe out there. I will update in a few days. The Challenger and tazaaa Thank this. -
I could have been in Albuquerque tonight but I have till Monday for this load and I'm at home in Phoenix. Strap it down Sunday I guess.
lol at you blowing off the helpful mentor who doesn't read dates. -
If you had a random drug test done the other day, I would be surprised if this is the reason why you have to stop in Albuquerque.
-
I got one in OKC. I pissed and was on my way.

Well heck I still ended up in El Paso. And of course I am now stuck here for at least tonight. Driving down 25 today and almost got blown over. Noticed trailer go the the left and lean over and driver behind me said Swift your tandems on the trailer just came off the road.
Scared the &^%#$% out of me. Slowed to 45 and put the hazards on as the wind got even worse for about five miles. Plus I was relocating a empty to El Paso.
Also got see two horses running from the cops down the freeway side by side. It was funny as hell to see
Oh boy they are now trying to send me a load that picks up 50 miles from here and comes back here???
Hmm don't they know I cannot drive now over my 14? Oh well will let them know again. Who wants to climb out of bed at midnight and drive 50 miles and then come back here?scottied67 Thanks this. -
Well what a bad few days! Got stuck in El Paso waiting on a load then finally get one that goes to Austin but the driver wont get to El Paso until midnight. So spent most of the day Sunday detailing the outside of the truck.
Come midnight I go in to see where the driver is and he shuts it down in Gage NM. They ask me if I was willing to drive to Gage and pick it up from the driver. I say yes and go on my way.
Driver started in Phoenix at noon that day and had a full eleven so he had time to make it but chose to instead stop and go to sleep in Gage. So after I pick it up I do a Mac22 because it is now 3AM in the morning and it's do in Austin Monday morning at 8AM.
They come back with a message saying why did you even take this load if you could not get it there on time? I said hey bud not my fault that the other driver decided he was not going to drive anymore so please be nice K?
So I drive all night and until 9AM and shut it down for my ten and then leave again from Van Horn TX at 7PM. I get down around Junction Texas and stop at a Mickie D's and grab me some food. get back out on I10 going east and all of the sudden out of nowhere Bambi comes running out from my left.
Boom I get her with the right front of my truck. Scared the hell out of me! I hear stuff dragging underneath the truck and come to a complete stop on the shoulder and find most of the right side of my truck gone except the turn signal was dragging under the truck.
#### it I just cleaned the truck and it looked pretty now it looks like crap!! So I get the turn signal UN hooked and look for the rest of my truck but it is in many small pieces. Call Dispatch and send in accident Macro and go on my way to deliver this load on time. Get to where I am going and the road is blocked from a down tree so have to go back out and come in a different way. Woah got to make a right turn where there is a ditch that has a huge drop off. No one there to help me and it is dark as hell on a small little road.
It took me 30 minutes of getting out every few feet to make that turn and I only had inches from my back trailer tandem tires to the ditch. I had to turn on the what? Differential lock if that is what you call it to make it through that little dip right before your trailer goes into ditch and flips over.
You talk about being a little scary? Man oh man I gunned it right when I knew I would have to go down into the dip and prayed.
I made the turn and I am currently at the dock but I have no idea how I am going to make that turn again. There better be another way out of here.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Maybe but sometimes I wonder if I'm on the PHX-ALBUQUERQUE dedicated, flats and vans both I've done that trip a bunch in my short time.
Good luck bluebonn lol
