Anyone know of any nice 359's up for sale. Preferably one of the numbered classics from 87 with a Cat. A set of sticks would be nice.
Looking for a 359 Pete

There is usually a couple of classics on truck paper, that is where we found ours (#45/359). there are many that are claimed to be classics, but the only way to be sure is to check for the special brass plate on the glove box

I agree with the above post on truckpaper there is usually a couple numbered 359's on the website, ebay has 359's listed but its hit or miss on numbered ones..

I watch Truck Paper pretty close. I think a lot of people use "Classic" in their discriptions because of the look of the truck.
You have any pics of yours? I have a pic file of all the numbered trucks I come across. -
JR, Can you help me settle a little debate with a friend...
Did the original numbered 359's come with air ride suspension? Also, did they have an air ride cab? My thought was even though they were limited edition, numbered, you could still get them spec'd out how you wanted. Or did they just build them, number them and paint them and that's what you got?
BTW, my FAVORITE truck of all time. I would love to have one.... Or 359 of them. LOL -
hey there long hood, i have found that too. I have also been keeping pics of all the classics I can and find adn yes, many guys like to say that "its a classic" and are wrong.
Biscuit, I have had guys tell me that they all had standup bunks or air ride cabs, or all had a specific setup with very few customer choices (like the 379X). But as far as I know they were customer spec'd with the only fixed item being the Extended hood.
Ours is 260 wb, with Air leaf (not low air leaf) suspension, it was all black new, but the owner changed it to have burgundy fenders and a grey interior. we will likely be changing it back some time in the future. we have also swithched it to 46 000lbs rears w/ full lockup and 4.33 ratios
we also have another 359 EXHD that we are currently putting back together. It was in an accident a year ago and is close to being ready
btw if you do have a pic of a classic with a standup bunk.......GIMME GIMME GIMME!

The Classics came customer spec-ed with EXHD hood, dash plaque and rocker badge. The stand up sleeper came out in 86, but was not available with the Classic. My brother spec-ed a Pete in 87 and had a choice of a 359 or 379 due to the 359 being fazed out mid year and the 379 replacing it. The Classics only came with Air Leaf and no cab air. Low air and Unibuilt didn't come out until 94. Prior to Unibuilt you could get a pair of air bags at the back of the cab only. I'm not sure, but I think that was part of the American Classic package. My 93 had them. The most common drive train I see in them is 15 spd with 3:70 rears. There's a few with 13 spd, but the 15 was the big dog back then. I did see this little gem a while back. Original owner, low mileage, factory 300" wb with a pair of sticks. Sold to the first caller just 4 hrs after it was listed. Was gone b4 I ever seen the ad

I was so bummed when I spoke to the seller, I forgot to ask which unit number it was

I'm in LOVE! Old Pete's just do it for me.

WOW! what a truck! too bad you missed it, but I can definatly see why it sold so quick. thanks for the useful info too. Finding solid info on rare trucks (359 Needlenose, 359 Classic, 379X, 379 Legacy etc.) is somewhat difficult.
