I use Metrofax and love it. $12.95/month for 1000 pages sent or received total. It pays for itself every month. The best part is being able to receive them 24/7 and not having to spend an hour at the fuel desk waiting for it to come through.

I do like Tankergirl80 suggested, I will scan things in and make a PDF file for sending to someone, and I usually will have any paperwork sent as a PDF to me in my email. I am not using one now, but there are several programs out there that will allow you to add digital signatures to a PDF file so you can sign a form right then and shotgun it back to where it needs to go.

The other services like eFax and such are good services. At least with PDF attachments back and forth, there is no services like that needed. And since everyone is on computers nowadays, almost everything that can be faxed can be made into a PDF and sent to an email.
