But did you get the drift of what I am talking about....Have you ever considered going to Central Ref. Services? Thats who I started with back in the day. They do the school, trainer, and give you a truck

Another thing you can look into, since you are already in school, is a credited COLLEGE truck driving school. It is a hell of a lot cheaper than most schools companies send you to, and you get a LOT more hands on time as well as instructor time. The school PAM sends its new recruits to, C1, I'll tell you what... PAM claims it will send you to a "state of the art driving school"...State of the art for a caveman maybe....dirt lots, old and falling apart FLT Classics, 2 yard and 5 road instructors for 20 new students PER WEEK (3 week course, so they can have up to 60 students there at a time). I had previous experience so I didn't need too much help, and it seemed like I spent most of the 2 weeks I was there (let me out early due to experience) I spent teaching the other students more than the instructors were! I know most schools are between $5-7grand, whereas going to a college for it can be between 1-2grand. Sure, it'll take you a whole semester to get the certificate, but just think how much more learning can be accomplished with those extra 4.5 months!

Yeah my dad told me the exact same thing, i live in fresno and i've checked and they don't offer anything at the university or city college here, the closest school wants $7,000 and then after completing they say you have to go take the dmv driving test, i thought if you did a school you go and take the written test get your permit then complete trucking school, i didn't think you had to take a driving test after trucking school?

The schools only get you prepared and teach you how to Sadly operate a commercial vehicle. You still need to go to the DMV to get your license which requires a road test and some written tests at the DMV.

Hey everyone so i just got off the phone with a recruiter here in northern california and i thought that the school in Fontana was so you could get your CDL? She told me that you have to have your cdl before you came to schneider? I was planning on getting my cdl written test done and get my permit then though i could go and finish up the schooling and get cdl in fontana but i guess not.

Can someone tell me what i need to do if i do not have a cdl or a cdl permit?
