Hey, I've actually heard more positive things about the Schneider lease than negative. Those of you that currently or have in the past done it, tell me about your experiences. Average earnings, home time, how well the company worked with you on maintenance issues, how much crap you had to deal with, and how well they ran you. I would LOVE to hear how many people completed a full lease and payoff and ended up with the truck note. Thanks.

The problem is if somebody dares to say anything good about a lease deal they get hammered by the "know it all" posters on this website.
That being said, I'll put my hard hat on for a second. I've been here since 2000. Got a new truck through them, paid it off and then ran it for almost another 2 years before I traded it in and got my current one. (balloon pmt will be due in late 2012). Schneider finance is pretty easy to deal with, I blew a head gasket in Nov (still under warranty thank god) and had to move a payment because I was down for over a week (Thanksgiving week is when it happened). No problem moving the payment back, all it took was a phone call and talked to them and it was done.
I don't know what kind of miles the van guys are getting as I am in bulk. We different dispatchers, trailers etc etc. But, there seems to be a lot of o/o's over there, and whenever I'm at a terminal they don't seem to whine as much as the company drivers. So i guess it's not that bad.
I have not had any issues with them. I am treated well and with respect. That goes both ways. I treat them with respect and get it back. Thus, they leave me alone and let me do my job.
Hard hat off.

Anyone out there had a lease with Schneider for a extended amount of time? I was thinking about doing it but am very reluctant to try it. i think it would be great to "own" my own truck but the financial responsibility scares me. what are the payments like? what are repairs like? how are the miles? can you do dedicated routes like target? is it a good idea if i want to get home every week for a day or 2?

If you get thru Indy OC during biz hours Ask for Joseph Garner Ops Manager for IC's I got a work book from him seems pretty good goes into detail on money needed to get started. You input all your current bills and income estimated trk payments Ins plates permits so you will know what you need to make a mile in order live.Baack Thanks this.
