Dear Krusty the Lung Cancer Victim...

Some of us simply have allergies and/or hay fever and that "hack" noise before spitting really helps clear the mucus out. Never 'round the ladies tho

 

I'm talking about the one where it sounds like you're sucking up your toenails through a garden hose...I've had some allergies over the years, and I've never had to make that kind of sound.

 

LOL...ok, well I am not going to ask for a demo but if it's gotta be done its gotta be done. I am not a smoker & I like to breathe when possible.

 

And my allergies are so bad in the spring, its to the point I have to take a break between mowing my front & back yard (in town, 700sqft each) because my sinuses have closed and eyes are swollen shut after the first one, lol..

 

Dutchman I understand those allergies. I'm that way also. I mow one saturday the other sunday.

 

I don't want to scare all you smokers out there, but sometimes, actually most of the time you don't have ANY symptoms of lung cancer till its far to late..

In 2007 I was sitting in my office, I took a drink of a soda and some "went down the wrong pipe" I started to cough, and cough hard, started coughing up blood, thought well this isn't good, left work and went to the med center.... After a chest x-ray a mass was found on my left lung ...
Long story short, I was VERY VERY blessed that it was found as early as it was, it was the size of a peach pit, but it hadn't managed to get into the lymph nodes or spread to any other organ, the unfortunate thing was because of where it was located I had to lose the entire lung rather then just a section or lobe ...

After 6 months of "Just in case" chemo and a year or so learning how to breathe with only one lung, I'm in better health then I was before...
I'm not one to preach to people to quit smoking, but trust me I smoked
right up the Dr. showing me my x-ray.... Needless to say, I think I had 3 cigarettes since.. But when your told you have Cancer, you;d be surprised how fast you can stop, and I loved smoking.... My girlfriend smokes. my friends smoke, but seriously to all the smokers reading this... Chemo is really Hell, it really is.. So if you've thought of quitting do, if you have troubles don't quit quitting, try the smokeless things that the truck stops sell.... You will be glad you did, trust me food really does taste better, and you can smell things a lot better, although sometimes in truck stops I wish I couldn't smell at all .... lol

To the OP: why were you showering with a smoker?

To the hacking cougher: "gee that's a really bad cough, good thing you don't smoke. oh..wait never mind."

 

You can work that out with a little patience and lots of practice. Or many patients and lots of practice. Good luck with your choice of treatment.
