Air control valve ????????????? Or a new compressor ??????
-
Holest air control valve for turbo part # 2836554
-
I have a 2006 Intl 9200 w/ Cummins ISM.. runs and starts great, after a few miles it makes a whistling sound and the turbo will not kick in..tech says it is the air control valve or the turbo..trying the valve first as it is less $$$ than a new turbo

I'd be talking to Mr. Haney, you may be able to up-grade AND SAVE some money.
-
Is that what we call the "gate" ???
-
maybe in ebaymotors, used is around $300,new around $550

I have one in my barn I'll sell you. I changed mine last week but that wasn't the problem. I did change the actuator because it was leaking air. Still not the problem. I checked my CAC on Friday and found two boots leaking. I'll know tommorow if that is why I'm getting low boost. I bought the new controller from Kenworth in Dayton for $700. But the guy there usually gives me a bit of a break.

I did the actuator for the wastegate on my '06 style ISX last summer and the part cost was around $350.
-
Is it leaking out of the actuator too?
I had a boost issue and it was leaking out of what I THINIK they said was the air control valve. Next leak in the system was through the actuator. I changed the actuator and that didn't fix the problem.
Most of the actuator problems that I have heard about have been fluctuating boost, not absence of boost.
My bet is the turbo...
