The federal government requires all carriers to thoroughly document a driver candidates previous employment and driving experience. Beyond this, they're being careful to not get saddled with a driver who has a poor driving history, too many tickets and/or a really bad crash history. Many drivers will try to conceal this in order to continue driving by claiming a false employment history. If someone sneaks by and is involved in fatal accident, the liability can be immense.

basically same reason grocery stores run employement history......as to concealing by using a false employment history, they do it alot from what i have found out, but don't understand why they go through the trouble when they can apply at werner!! j/k!

Pack light - a soft sided dufflebag is recommended, don't forget some warmer clothes - even in 100-degree heat, a cold storage loading dock is cold! Don't forget shower clogs, some extra money helps, and a debit card! There is a Walmart just up the street from the Campus Inn... within walking distance or the shuttle can drop you there. Handy for anything you forget, or don't want to lug with you.

You're going to be completing the application AGAIN in pen and ink, so anything you're going to need to duplicate what you did online needs to be with you. Same for documentation on any medical conditions, perscriptions, etc - and have your doctors phone and fax number handy if you think there might be questions. Don't even think about "having a beer" after you arrive in Springfield.

Be on time everywhere - early is better. Keep in mind what your goal is - to be a CDL driver, and git-er-done!

Be safe, enjoy the ride, and good luck!

Nope. The only real question mark is if you may need to take a sleep test - hard to know if you've got sleep apnea while you're asleep.

I talk to alot of ladies married to Prime drivers and they all say that their husbands love the company and how great they are, one of them is even thinking about moving to MO to get an office job (which sounds great to me). So it sounds like Prime is def the place to be!

I have a friend who works for Prime. Went to them after he left Schneider.
He says that he is very happy with them. However, you should like to be gone a lot. I believe that is why he likes them. Hope this helps!
