Ok I'm ready to watch this show.

He fooled you with a smart phone.
Seriously, all you need is a phone with internet, GPS, etc and download the app for E-logs or whatever it is. It's computer logs for certain phones.. The GPS records his location, time, etc, so all he does is hit a button & wallah..
Sounds pretty good [if you're keeping your pants pulled up] but I usually don't so I don't need that curse. [EOBR]
I got an iphone but if anything stupid ever happens it's going under the tires before I hand it over.
-
Yeah... especially since the thing is logging your location and time - even if the GPS function is turned off. Sure hope anyone doing "creative logging" doesn't have an iPhone!Injun Thanks this.
-
Or any "smart" phone, for that matter.
-
Even the oldest of the digital phones have a tracking ability.
Unless its turned off even the cell towers know where its at and the location
as it moves around is logged in the big daddy computer back at cell phone HQ.
It may not be even close to as accurate as the iPhone tracking but it'll be close
enough for DOT investigators to figure out if you were some what close on
your logging.
Why else do you think when theirs a wreck the first thing the cops do is find
the cell phone records?Injun Thanks this. -
This will give us all something to think about:

Big Brother isn't just watching, he's recording it too. -
Where is "this scale" you speak of? He asked me if I knew of an app for the logging on a cell phone. I did not know that the dot would accept a log form on a cell phone.
-
No argument, and that's not anything new. HOWEVER - and this is big - that requires a court order. A table of location/date/time information stored in the phone can be downloaded - ala what's occuring in Michigan on the side of the road - and they're not being very scrupulous about upholding an individual's Fourth Amendment rights either.mizdageeragn and 07-379Pete Thank this.

What the Investigating Officer does, will be nothing compared to what the Plaintiffs Attorney will do to you. The worst part is he will have years to gather all the evidence he needs. And his burden of proof is less that in criminal court. So you might get over on the Officer on the side of the road ,but so sorry if you ever have a serious collision, Mr. Plaintiff's Attorney will pick your bones in addition your company will probable leave you hanging to fight on your own.dieselbear and truckerdave1970 Thank this.
