If I had a sleeper,I'd have a roll and pleated, chopped and channeled, mattress with red flames on it. It would also have chrome SS Crager buttons on it.

I have a custom mattress, made by... me. :biggrin_255:

I got a piece of 4" thick medium density foam, cut it to fit, throw a sheet on it... some of the best sleep I've ever had. I think it cost about $12.

No matter how much I have paid for a truck(and I have paid ALOT--LOL)IMHO--there isn't a truck mattress out there worth a s***--so I have always--added to them--waffle foam--custom top etc..--But I was having lunch a while back and a driver pulling a beautyrest trailer came in and we got to talking--he told me you can get the best mattress made to fit the average truck--although standard sizes do not fit--he told me to go to a regular mattress store and have them order what he called a HOSPITAL SINGLE--says the come in all varieties etc--and specs very close to the average truck bunk area--(forgot the dimensions he gave me)I'm happy with my jerry rig for now--but have kept it in mind--just haven't bothered to check it out--might be worth a look--since most of us spend way more time in truck than at home--and I spent over $1000 for our bed at the house!

    Wargames Thanks this.

I added a 4" foam topper to the existing stock mattress...sleeps great.

But I will say this....during the winter, when I would be out of the truck for a few days, I'd get back in that thing and it would be as hard as a rock, at least for a bit until the interior of the truck moderated.

Go to Costco and buy a "memory foam" topper.
