It would help if some of these guys would learn how to park, though. I'll pull through a parking lot late at night, and I can usually see where a dozen or more good spaces could have been saved if folks had just shown a little care in their parking.
But... that's a rant for another day.T-Bone, Rollover the Original and Everett Thank this. -
there is more BS in this thread than on ch19..
Big John Thanks this. -
i know what ya mean they park all crooked to try to keep people from parking in the spot next to them or they are just plain stupid and lazy.I will usually park right up next to them straight and tight just so it makes it even more difficult for them to get out than if they would have paked sraight to bgin with, and yes i have gotten the hood hit a few times but i dont mind a free paint job once and a while.lolRollover the Original, Everett and Spacer Thank this.

I know the truckstops don't have their own security people because of the cost.
When you look at the legal part of it, a truckstop is on private property, owned by someone, or owned by a corporation.
The owner is responsible for what happens on his or her property.
If you could prove harassment, by beggars or prostitutes, or prove you were robbed or assaulted, legally you could sue the truckstop.
Whether you won anything or not would be up to a jury. Maybe that's what it will take to get these truckstops to start providing some security and run off these dregs that prey on truck drivers. -
Get the number to the truck stop you are staying at. When the lot lizards and beggars knock, call the fuel desk and tell them they need to come out and run them off. Be in the process of making this call while you answer the door.
Most truck stops are more than willing to run 'em off the property. And sure, they'll come back a little later, but the beggars are pretty good at keeping track of who got them run off before.PJSnickers Thanks this. -
If i were female and worreid about night time, i get my brain too work , hum so let see what we have in the bunk here, i got a lap top, some food, some girly stuff, (light buld went off) i take my lap top outa storage, then i dig out my web cam, mount web cam ,very tempory with duct tape or clamp methiod ,too outside mirror bracket , run wires or wireless back too lap top, make sure its point too the door handel mount a small 12 volt light you can put a swicth on,then to sleeper then to that 12 volt plug back there,, then when they knock , flip your cam on and laptop make sure its working, then your porch light, all from the safety of your sleeper

I don't stop at that light if I don't have to. I creep up to it slowly if it's red then continue on when it turns green. They won't jump on a moving truck......usually.

I must park in all the right places..only had one begger. Before she started her speal I told her I wasn't born in the dark and it sure wasn't yesterday so make it good.. she. Just wallked away..
Maybe they don't like reefers either.
Seriously I would answer the knock with my hand on the air horn..PJSnickers Thanks this. -
ive been out for 4 months now, had ONE girl beat on my door, no one else whatsoever. Could it be the dirty company truck? Also keep my curtains pulled in the cab, and just leave the sleeper curtains open, more room in this tiny volvo that way.
