I never said you could haul every thing in a reefer what I said is that you can haul more than one just refridgerated in it.
You need to learn to read or get better glasses so you can see what I wrote and quit trying to reword my posts.
If you need to haul something and your trailer has a metal floor they make special mats or different metals that you can put down when needed.
As for the insulated walls there is nothing that you can do about that.
I know for a fact that there has been meat, dry goods in a reefer and there has been hazmt in a reefer with no problems because I was with someone that had those kind of loads on one trip that is were my oppinion was comming from on my first post.
what trailer is better

My beef is with you thinking you can get a reefer for the sam eprice as a dry van. the rest was a heads up to further clarify your statemenet. DOn't get bent.
Can you get a reefer for the same? sure, you can get a 20 year old beat down pos reefer trailer for the same as a real nice, new or almost new dry van. Plus then don't forget you have another motor to pay maintenance costs on. And you don't want to know what the hvac guys get to work on them things either. -
It all depends on what accounts you have if you have your own if your going out and getting broker freight i would say reefer for sure. Like some have said you can't haul every thing in a reefer that you can a dry van but the versatility of a reefer far out weight the restrictions of a dry box. I have pulled them all and if i had to choose 1 trailer to go nation wide with and make a consistant liveing with it would be the reefer. Now it will cost you more in the long run but you have the versatility of the either or freight. Now my personel favorite trailer is a 50 ft step deck ultra light with movable speads. That trailer with some loading beams will make you some money no matter who or where you are. But my next is a 50 ft reefer with the same moveable spread. so they will all work you just need the one that will work the best in your application.
