Pretty harsh for an "accident"...Why not just improper lane change?...

I was about 5 minutes behind that wreck. I feel bad for the family, just got married and all.

That's a total shame that even had to happen. Well that's one less bad truck driver on the road. I've seen what appears to be just as many truck drivers as cars do this crap! They install mirrors on vehicles for a reason, try using them!

drvrtech, you formed that opinion by what was written in the article??? it may prove to be not the case. had a former brother in law arrested back the late 80's for vehicular homicide, 2 counts, he was arrested spent month in jail before being bonded out. when the case when to court trial , he was found not guilty. turns out there were some witnesses that saw him with turn signal on moving one lane to left, the car made a change to next lane to right without a turn signal and after b-in-law was 2 /3rds into the lane. oh and lets dont forget about the alcohol found in the folks in the car system.

jumping to conclusions isnt fair to anyone, just hope you arent ever the victim of a four wheeler last minute lane change, cut in front and stop manuever, or go from left lanc across 4 lanes and you clip their rear, you will get charged 90 per cent of the time.

You see crazy drivers on the Crashlanta 500 all the time. Something about that loop creates aggressive driving. Traveling in a highly populated area is not the time to minimize time. You can do 60 in the 55 and trucks will pass on the right and give you a dirty look or get out in the restricted lane and pass. Why? To save 1-2 minutes around Atlanta or testosterone says you have to be the pole leader? Hardly an excuse for someone to die. Atlanta is one place things can go from perfect to a cluster**** in 0.5 seconds.

Families devestated over a need to pass. Totally sad.

well it didnt (the article) really give detailed info...I mean yeah, someone died..thats HORRIBLE prayers for famiy and friends....but it does seem kind of harsh that he was charged with manslaughter over a lane change...there are tons of lane change accidents all the time...it just so happens that this one caused someone to die....it doesnt sound intentional etc....still very tragic...
