Yup its the 4th day that ive been here in Richmond, Va at the Pete dealer trying to get some very small but could be/would be dangerous problems worked out.
Really im not very happy about the way Werner is going about there job of co-ordinating with the Pete store on fixing my truck. It would seem to me that they are losing quite a bit of revenue with me sitting. This is confirmed by dispatch who called me and blamed me for not being out of the shop.
I tend to be a laid back nice guy most of the time but was very upset after getting a call from my dispatcher blaming me. I have called and updated them on the situation multiple times throughout and have even tried co-ordinating on my own with our breakdown dept. to help speed things along.
But, here i sit. Still. Hopeful for the morning.
4th day here

Maybe you should give your dispatcher the breakdown dept's phone number, and tell the dispatcher to call that number to find out why you remain stuck!

alot of companies wouldnt even of sent you to a dealership or a vendor in general to get the repairs, they would of REQUIRED you keep running (legal or not) until you get to their shop.
your managers prly stressed about it because he has responsibilites too and the truck needs to be out of the shop asap and making money or hes at risk of being given a warning or fired etc.
personally id be glad theyre willing to pay for it to be fixed at a dealership, you will generally get rolling faster and have less downtime and the best part they didnt require you to "ride dirty".
4 days though??? personally i might of wanted that to be done at the terminal regardless, might of been able to go home during that time... -
What's the problems?...We had a driver that sat at a dealership for a week but he was getting basically a new engine...Really depends on the repair to determine whether the time is unusual...If I was at the dealership when my dispatcher called and asked me that, I'd say, "hold on" and hand the phone to the service advisor....

It needs a couple small things. The fifth wheel was 3 inches out of adjustment. The adjustments made they still have play in the jaws and are trying to get werner to authorize the bushing kit for it.
No a/c which they fixed on the first day. Just needed a recharge.
The ABS light is on and they have no idea what the problem is even after running codes on it which I think is full of crap. Whats the computer for if it doesnt give you a code? I told them to put a peice of black tape over the light but werner wants it cleared.
And my front end needed some grease on the tie rod ends. -
Its probably the Pete Store's fault. I work for Werner and brokedown at the Marlyand House Travel Plaza and had to get a new radiator hose after being towed there. It took 4 days. Also I've talked to people who went there and had been waiting a week for their truck to be fixed and from what they told me the mechanics there just didnt seem to know what they were doing.
