WOW !!! First off if i was that scared i would have got my stuff and got the he-- out . Even if i had to use my own dollar. Now all this sounds like the same stuff that goes on and around alot of the truck stops over this beautiful land so you better learn to deal with stuff like this on a regular basis or find a differant career. Someone out there needs to put together a before you start your trucking career video ,That shows these students what there up against. Good luck.

maybe this is a put on.. maybe it isn't.. but still doesn't give a few the right to jump down his throat and be rude and disrespectful. good chance this very well is some farm boy rube that hasn't been to the big city before. odds are slim that be the case.

this is the reasoning that the trucking industry has gone to #### the last 20 yrs. the old timers don't want to help out the new kids on the block with their wisdom and life learning and the new punks don't want to ask b/c they don't want to be ridiculed ( and like many kids really don't want to listen either).
glad to see a few responses that at least offered sound advice and tried to help this person out in a situation they weren't totally sure about.

"Something tells me the OP is a kid with too much time on his hands" his older posts tell it a bit different , 5 jobs in 10 years before trying trucking.

Palmetto bugs aren't something to be afraid of, they are EVERYWHERE here.... Plus your like 20 some odd minutes away from me.. There alot plenty of hotels that are alot nicer and safer around there so if you feel that worried about your safety pack up, call your trainer and request he changes ya out to another place. If he declines just call Werner and suggest you feel that your safety is at risk being there. It might just take that place off their approved list. Like some one said before, take a walk of River side, you will be more relaxed then. Or check out The Landing.

lol... call them what you want in FL but in east TX they are tree roaches. I live smack dab in the middle of the woods with trees right up to my house. I've had them the size of my hand. nothing like the first time you go to kil one and it takes off and sounds like a #### helecopter coming at you. lol

we didn't have them in WI, imagine my surprise

Ok so hows this the old timers fault ?????? Just because this guy has not flawn the nest yet your going to blame it on the old timers. Trucking is the way it is because not many love what they do anymore or the ones that failed in another career come to trucking to make the big bucks so to say and figure out this is alot harder than they thought, Then want to grip about everything that goes on in this way of life. With that said i hope the guys gets out just fine and makes a good driver down the road but who knows.

ROFLMAO! Sorry Digit, but I've known one hell of a lot of "old farm boys" in my life. I've never yet met one who was particularly bashful about taking on life, bugs or if necessary people.
