Our safety score is getting pretty high, is there a quick way to try and lower it other than voluntary inspections at a port? We are at 96.8 with vehicle maintenance....and real low on the other categories

I'll bet you are a container company, no? Those always have high vehicle maintenance rates.

There is no "quick" way that I know of. Just get good inspections now and wait for the bad ones to fall off.

Drive equipment that passes inspection, and start a comprehensive maintenance plan so if an auditor shows up he will see you are already taking corrective action.

If the problem is in the container trailers don't hook to anything that doesn't pass muster. But yeah getting a bunch of good or clean inspections will help.

How long does it take for them to fall off our safety score?

Each individual inspection falls off the company score when it is 24 months old. Go 2 years with all clean inspections and have a score of 1.

Your correct, he is a carrier so I provided the correct answer for the OP. Thank you for that clarification though.
