I had the same vibration, more than once. since vibration travels, it is hard somethimes to tell where it originates from. my left mirrors would shake & front would bounce. different times over the years it was a different fix. the last time was a u joint just behind the trans, another , my spread flat with flat spots on tires making my truck bounce, another the spring shackle I think it is called where the leaf is connected to the bottom of the steer shock was broke. I had put new shocks on too, but only cause they were original, so they needed replaced regardless. replacing parts that are long overdo even if that is not the cause is fine, as long as you dont start throwing parts at it, by process of elimination. I have been there done that, cause I did not know what else to do. hope you don't have the same dilema. wish you luck.
Whats causing my vibration ??? Front of truck

We have slack in the carrier bearing so we will check that next. Thanks much will check back once that is done and let you know.. I do appreciate the help. Hubby says he will also check the spring shackle. He says sometimes it makes a popping noise like it's in a bind. When the wheel gets on a high spot. So that's the two next things on the list.. thanks again.

Nearly 26 months and vibration still not found
lilillill Thanks this. -
Not sure if this was coverd but are your king pins worn? This will cause your vehichle to wear steer tires unevenly.. Bent front axle?

One of the trucks where i work had a vibration in the drive train and they found that the front output shaft bearing is out on the transmision and tore out part of the housing in the transmision, dont know if thats your problem but you might check.

We are still looking and he does have a popping sound at times.. Still working on finding the problem. thanks for all the suggestions. Money is short so we just have to try one small thing at a time will keep you posted.
We are going to change the wheel bearings soon.
Friday morning Hubby pulled over because he thought the wheel was going to fall off. It was making a clanking sound every time the wheel would make a rotation. he had his window down in stop and go traffic. So he pulled over thinking the lug nuts were gone. He tried to find something anything.
He even pulled into the truck stop but by the time he got unhooked the sound had stopped and no matter what he did he couldn't make it make that noise..
So he's going to change the wheel bearings this time when he's home. He's also going to check into the spring hangers. We so appreciate all the help and suggestions will keep you posted.
