I just graduated from the Fox Valley Tech, 10 week CDL program last week. One of the very best in the nation. I have been researching many companies for months now. So much negative info everywhere you look. I have had several offers, but I am seriously considering Knight Refrig [Squire program to train], and also Gordon. They have seemed to rise to the top for a newbie driver. Gotta run reefer to get into Florida it appears. I am in Green Bay now, but am looking to run south mostly, as I still have a rental in the Tampa area. Knight just opened a terminal very close to Tampa. Both companies seem almost identical in pay and have quality equiptment. ANY advice from drivers in the know is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!![]()
Looking for advice

Check out May Trucking. They have a terminal in Pensacola and lots of long haul reefer freight. There hasn't been TOO many bad reports on them.

As a Florida resident myself, if you want to make it to Florida I HIGHLY recommend refers!
I love working for my company and getting home to Florida is no problem with them so check out JBS Carriers! We also have a terminal in Green Bay so that might be perfect for ya. We do hire students! -
you may also want to check out, WEL Companies. Better then both of the 2 you mentioned.
Knight sucks....GTI I dont know much about, but I do know that Knight sucks lol

My vote would be JBS Carriers and GTI.

It seems Knight Refrig is getting much more love than their dry van division. Apparently they are run completely seperate. I am just nervous about picking a bad company, because once I start with someone I will stick it out for at least my one year. It would be great to find a good fit right off the giddee up...

then stay away from knight completely lol. Save yourself the hassel. Your looking to BIG you need to think small....small companies are most times the best companies to work for...
