I'm trying to figure which companies have autos versus manuals. Does anybody know which companies offer automatics?

actually US Express is getting rid of them. i have this information first hand from my former students that work there, one has been there over 1 year now, the other 6 months..

they are costly when in need of repairs, and to purchase. also, this can make it difficult to pass a road test at another company if you leave a place with automatics, as you will forget how to shift a manual, and this is of course, if you are right now a student driver.....

If you are a student, you better learn how to shift a manual or you'll have problems in the future getting good jobs. You can't spend your whole career in an Automatic.

    i dont have much experience w/ auto's,but.

    i have heard these things:

automatics are niche, they arent good for hauling otr up and down hills w/ heavy loads or especially mountains...also in snow you can have problems starting out in icy situations or deep snow i would guess. for sliding tandems if that trailer is a pos,you might not get it slid w/ an auto versus manual.
