You just chose a bad company to work for is all..... and not all companies are paying .90-.94cpm You need to find a company that pays % and you will do better.

BTW, I am getting .62cpm for my FSC this week alone at QC

I talked to the recruiter in Chicago and the L.A. office. But i did ask all the questions as the pay, is it household or P.C. Layover, detention, is the pay scale on a sliding scale. fuel surcharge, is it loaded only or both loaded and empty, fuel discount. But for the guy who got popped in Oregon, yes they have to furnish, but its your job to ck that they are up to date and in the cab. I run the numbers and it was'nt enough for me.

I have a friend that just went to work as a company driver for an O/O for these guys. I was reading through some of these posts because he said he has the potential of making $1400 a week if he ran 3500 miles a week in his big 475 Cat and his studio sleeper unit. I was sitting here with my calculator and figured in the fuel with th above post and took 3443 miles (assuming thats dispatched miles not actual miles) and gave the benefit of the doubt and figured in fuel milage at 6 mpg then gave another bene of the doubt at $3.50 a gallon. I got a figure of about $2,008 just for fuel. If this friend of mine thinks he can actually make $1,400 from a $650 plus net, I wanna see how this magical trick is done. He's always accusing me of trying to insult his intelligence so I'll just let him tell me about it when he gets his check. BTW he's working for CDN. It may not be the company of the above post but I know it's close in pay

They've got a really poor CSA saftey rating so you work for them you're putting your record at risk. They took prepass away several months ago because of that. Payscale is screwed up for o/o, they pay zero the first 50 miles empty and really short zip code miles on all else. They don't want drivers flagging 15 minutes on duty for fuel and say that as long as fuel ups are flagged on the same day you fueled all is well. Yeah... in this computer age where you buy fuel on a credit card..... ...riiight... This from a close friend of mine who left there several months ago. Sound like a good company to you? I wouldn't touch them with a 40 foot pole.

If it was your first time to OR you can stop at the POE and make sure you have the permits required to run the state.

I had a permit for the wrong truck# one time going through OR and I just had the company fax one down to the scale house and was on my way.

And would not try to run the state without the permit. OR loves to do paperwork checks

Oregon runs your license plate as you roll across the scale. If the computer doesn't have a record of your Oregon permit, you will be asked to step inside for a chat. If you can't provide the permit for inspection, you will receive the ticket and be required to purchase the permit.

Oregon is not an IFTA member state. You are charged road tax based on mileage traveled through the state rather than by gallons of fuel used while within its borders. That's why you do not pay a fuel tax when buying fuel for a CMV...as long as you have the permit.

In 2004 1.10 per mile was the break even point. How do you make truck payments on .90 a mile? Wow

Wow, Joseph. You must have been buying a fully complemented Pete with all the purty chrome thrown in and getting 4.5mpg with it.

My break even point on 2,500 miles/week with fuel at $3.80/gallon and including all of my fixed costs (payment plus all insurances and permits) is 90cpm. Of course, I get paid more than that. Even by Swift.
