My hubby is a trucker and is from NB Canada. He did trucking up there for about 30+ years. It took quite awhile (about 2 yrs since this was shortly after 9-11) for him to get a visa to come down here. He came down to marry me which was about 7 1/2 years ago. Yep he had to do all the tests over again to get his CDL down here. And had to start at the bottom of the company and all that bull. Now he is listed as a permenant resident. He does not have US citizenship.

BTW... It is plenty hot here in Louisiana also but hubby still hasn't "defrosted" from all those years in Canada!

He is on the road right now but maybe he can help you out with questions when he returns.

Anyhow ... Welcome to the forum!

I would be interested in chatting with your hubby too see if this is possible or options or routes too go, or if a guy can go though a company and get picked up that way,if possible.
