I am soory for your experience and since I do not know you I cannot dispute what you say happened to you. Yes there are drivers that do not make it at Henderson or at any company for that part. My point is in trucking and life you have to realize that if it is not working out you have to just move on to better opportunities. I will dispute with you about the number of lease completions here at Henderson. Also there are a large number of drivers here with more than 5 years of service so evidently there are people that enjoy working here.

    So, just as I thought...

You aren't listening to me: I enjoyed working there! At least, I did until they started screwing me! Their equipment was top notch, and I practically never had to wait at a warehouse.

Maybe 1 more driver has completed the lease purchase since I was there, which would make 2 on the list. And yes, there are drivers that last 5+ years in companies - but those are company drivers. Hell, I've lasted that long at a company.

And apparently - you've been missing MY point: my point, is that they royally screwed me over, along with other lease operators, for no reason at all except to add more money to their own coffers. Since I don't work to be screwed over, I left. Actually, I didn't leave, but that's another story for another time! They made twice as much money off of me - once for the load I was moving for them, the other for my paying them to do it! Again, they knew EXACTLY what they were doing to me.

For some reason you refuse to believe that it happened at the great and powerful Henderson, which leads me to believe that you're working in the office there. You're probably the one that screwed me over, too!

And YOU have to realize that in trucking and life, that when a company does something like this to people for no reason at all, that it should be made known in the industry. I'll be delighted to do just that.

Perhaps they favor "locals" over drivers hired from elswhere?
Perhaps they favor certain drivers that kiss ###?

I don't know. All I know is that after the first month, they stopped letting me make money, and then stopped talking to me when I questioned it.

That = SCAM. I don't care how much you love it there, it is what it is. I really liked it there, too, but it doesn't change what they did to me. I was there, I was willing, and I was ready, and I got nothing.

So far as I'm concerned, Lee Waugh, Bill Bede(sp), and that Lesley bimbo that was running the dispatch office are the biggest bunch of lowlifes to ever walk the planet.

I'm sure that Josh Kaburick had something to do with the way things were being done there, too. I can't see them just up & running things the way they were, without his blessings.

Well first of all I want you to know that I do not work in the office I am a lease op that has an 09 Cascadia. I ran solo my 1st year and have been teaming the past 2 yrs. What do you want me to say do you want me to apologize for what happened to you at Henderson? Everyone is not going to make it with the lease programs here or at other companies and it could be for a variety of reasons. But you also know that even as company drivers people feel that companies didn't work out for them. I live in Southern California and I get an avg of 6300 mi a wk. Does every team get that probably not. Some teams such as husband wife teams do not want or need to run alot of miles other teams do not like to run hard. And I am not saying all husband teams do not run hard just saying everybody is different. If you are no longer with Henderson and they are such a bad company you should be happy you go away from them. All companies have turnovers and employees that left for some reason or another. Do you honestly think that your opinions on here are going to really matter? Do you think the 400+ drivers are going to hear about what happened to you and quit Henderson? Henderson is not a very large company and from my time there the number of unhappy drivers is proportionate to their size.

Good chance you will be back out here before a year is up. But hopefully your new gig will pay off.

    A-HA!

Now the truth comes out: You ran solo for the first year, and have been running teams - as a lease operator - for the past two...don't you think that's a bit ODD?

I mean, shouldn't they run you enough that you don't need another driver? They didn't did they? Instead of questioning them about it, you bowed down, and took on another driver - and at YOUR expense, not theirs. (another lease operator I went through "indoctrination" with, ended up having to do the same thing, in order to make any kind of money, and he still ended up walking away, because they wouldn't run him even with a co-driver) You're really doing them a huge favor by hiring that other driver, so they wouldn't have to.

I see "Sucker" painted on your forehead, Texasbound!

I mean, when I worked there, they had 50 COMPANY DRIVERS walk away, because they refused to run teams when the company tried to force them to. If you were there the same time I was (judging by your own words, you should have been), you'd remember when they had over 50 tractors parked all over the place! That wasn't because they were trading them in, it was because the drivers quit! Nearly 1/4 th of their entire fleet!

I'm VERY happy that I left them, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to trash their name everytime somebody asks me about them! I never signed anything that said I wouldn't.

I still think you're in the office at Henderson: why else would you be so concerned with wether or not some 400 other drivers read what I have to say? Why are YOU dissing me? What makes you think that YOUR opinion carries any weight - because you're still there, and I'm not?

From what you've said, that only means you haven't got the huevos / the CSA score / the intelligence to look for something better, or to realize that you too, may be getting screwed over!

    Rachi,

No chance: I'd rather go back into the Air Force & do 6 more years, than to go back to work for another trucking company! IF ( and that's a VERY BIG if) I were to do that, it would be MY truck, and MY authority, and running through a broker.

But to be honest, I'm having much more fun playing with old cars. Besides, it lets me play on my computer at night! I put in 6-7 hours a day, then I go for a walk, or goof off. Monday I'm going to Reno for a few days.

Hell, maybe I'll end up doing the good 'ol "Welcome to Wal-Mart" thing if I ever get bored enough, lol! Even they'd pay me more than Henderson did.

Seriously again - no chance. I like being my own boss, and working my own schedule. And the best part - NOBODY tells me what to do!

You can't beat that with any kind of stick. :)

Wow dude you really think you know me ? You keep saying I work in the office well you are wrong there. I didn't bow down to them. You see there is a little truth in what you are saying mixed in with alot of bs. Yes I remember when alot of drivers both company and lease quit in 09. But if you are going to be honest on this forum thats when the economy was in the tank and freight was slow for everybody not just Henderson. Yes alot of drivers walked away alot them felt they had to and I cannot say I blamed them everybody has their own personal situation to deal with and had to make the decision to ride it out or leave. 3 of the 4 guys I was in orientation with left withing the first 6 months. As freight begin to pickup in late April and I was still on paper logs I was getting close to 3500 miles a wk pretty consistently. The reason I went teams was I saw the reality of the situation. Henderson is a major produce hauler and they were going to begin using Elogs which translates to teams are going to do alot better and stay busier. The solos rarely get sent out west if their is a team nearby they mainly like to run the solos 1000 mi or less. It makes sense a team can leave the midwest and be in California in less than 34 hours drop and hook and be on their way back with a load of produce while a solo is still heading west. I team here cause for me it just makes sense and money and I live in Southern California so I get home whenever I want by simply asking for freight that is going that way. I've helped 2 of inlaws get their cdl and they have both teamed with me. Look I am not going to get into name calling you on here or trying to insult you. You obviously feel very strongly that you didn't get a fair shake and I understand that. Before coming to Henderson I was a logistics supervisor for a motorsports race team out of Southern California supervising 10 drvrs and over 12 commercial and noncommercial transportation vehicles. For 5 yrs it was a blast best people in the world to work for and as long as I got the cars where they needed to be on time and the transporters and drvrs did their job it was all good. Than the company restructured and bought in a new VP of marketing/motorsports and he wanted to do things differently and I decided to leave. My point is I cannot live my life looking at whats behind me. I have to focus on what's ahead. Drvrs have to find a company that fits their personality as well as their needs. A company that has the freight and can get you home when you need it.
