I have a friend that'll be hacking the phone for me and making it a wifi hot spot so I can use it with my laptop. I was more interested in apps drivers use in creative ways to help with the job.

I would learn how to hack the myself IMHO, because an OTA update can break your hotspot.

Well don't play many games now days. So a lot of the aps I use are business related. I will suggest "Radarscope." it uses NEXRAD Level 3 data. It's really nice for traveling or just around the house.

Yea, go look for black market software if you want a virus on your phone, I would rather pay the 99 cents and support a good developer than be a cheap skate. Not to mention it is theft.

Rom Manager will not soft brick your phone, if you flash a rom or kernel through RM, there is a chance that the Rom or kernel you are flashing can do the damage. always create a backup, never had any major problems myself

I think people started to go to the back market when Google changed the refund policy to fifteen minutes. Who can really see if the app is what they need in that time. Of course, some devs will refund you on their own after a day or two if you e-mail them.

I've got the new HTC intrigue 4g Andrioid from ATT. Can someone tell me how to or what app I need to be able to tether it and hot spot it? Also what do you mean when you say your phone is rooted? I'm not super tech savy. :biggrin_2552:

The trick to see tether apps in the market is to turn on airplane mode. You then use WiFi to access the market. Then search for tethering apps.

Rooting gives you superuser access to your phone. Check out XDAdevelopers.
