This remark has nothing to do with the class AB KL203.
That said I don't like class C either.
Ted -
so your willing to be wrong with him ?
Class C amps run smooth if driven correctly, which you have no experience with.
I'm sure handlebar appreciated your crosswise retort as well.
Take your own advise and have a seat and fix the air leak in your neck

WTF is the origin for a remark like that? Have I said anything you disagree with, and for which you have the credentials to back up your stance? Looks like you're well on your way to alienating anyone who might be inclined to listen to anything you say.
And, for those following the debate, Class C RF amplifiers can be OK for AM if operated within their fairly narrow linear range. As soon as you bias one for sideband, it's no longer Class C. Class C was designed primarily to be used with FM or PM transmission, where both the voltage and current in the final stage remain constant.

You made a clear post in #8 in line with what Na$car posted and then ds pee'd on his boots in #10

Lets see that class C amp drivin to 90% of rated output .....as we have both said NO amp is totaly class C since they all have a VERY limited linear drive level outside of that they are TRASH GENERATORS.
I have run VHF Engineering and TPL amps on 6 and 2 SSB they ARE class C but with a bit of skull duggry they will work as long as you don't mind that you sound like crapola ..... Now drive them on CW or FM .... sweet .....
My TPL with 25 in runs 120 out on 52.525 FM and you can get some usable SSB up to about 60 watts if you don't mind how you sound.
Yep the class C CB myth continues right up with extra channels and wack-packing. -
BUNK .....
I have been building and using amps for almost 50 years SINCE I run FM I do use class c amps and THAT mode along with code is what they WILL work on .......
NO class C amp with equal a well built calss AB amp on SSB or AM If you feel I'm wrong show me the photo of your output on a wide band spectrum scope scanning 10 - 100 mhz driving your class c amp at 10%, 25%, 50% and 100% of rated output and the same photos of your class AB1 .....
This is the #1 reason CB amps cause problems class c amps are TRASH generators worse yet CBers drive them past rated outputs even into saturation or flat topping .....
NOT all CB amps are bad some AB ones are clean enough for legal HAM use. -
YOU WIN AGAIN OCD!
(its easier to just give it to you and let you self gratify) -
No you show your total lack of understanding of radio and mental disabilties. Now show all on this forum where i am wrong .....

Geez, it's hard to argue with logic like that. OK, Yup wins the "unqualified-yet-trying-his-best-to-bully-the-really-helpful-people-with-ALL-CAPS-but zero-logic" award.
I'm tired of having actual science trashed by loudmouths. Any of you folks who want real-world experience that's backed by genuine physics, go ahead and ask your questions. If, instead, you delight in picking apart people who take the time to be precise in their help, take your best shot with Yup's "info".
Not everyone likes hams, but we *did* do the work to get licensed. Folks like Bruce and I also EARNED commercial radiotelephone licenses, the industry standard for people who service transmitters.
And anyone who thinks hams don't belong here posting, carefully re-read the topic heading.
Yup, have fun yelling all you want at the people who know this better than you do. I'll *always* be able to make a living doing this stuff; losers like you get found out and either go bankrupt or ridden out of town on a rail.
Have a nice day.
