I agree 100%. Maybe do the square block in the round hole thing. They also need to do psychological testing... Do you hate your mother?? :)

But when you have to fill so many seats, the gov't opens the flood gates of mentality and then put a bunch of rules and babysitters out there in attempts to control them.

Exactly. Best argument yet for a trucker's strike, although I know it will NEVER happen.

But think about how we are regulated, investigated, discombobulated, and how we are, after all that, still treated like immigrant lettuce pickers?

You ever think that there could be truck drivers driving those four wheelers? So I guess you just started driving a semi truck when you first got your license to drive? I agree alot of 4 wheeler drivers drive like idiots and have no respect for truck drivers.Even though thats not the subject I just wanted to point that out to you.I seen alot of dumb truck drivers out there making stupid mistakes too and even some with years of experience! No driver can say that their perfect. When you first got into a truck and took off did you "NOT" scratch a gear or two cause I still do every once in a while.Trying to train new drivers in 3 weeks is rediculous, and 6 more weeks on the road is too.It takes months for some to get used to the road and the handling of such a big vehicle. Some make it that are lucky and some dont! You could get out on the road tommorow in your rig and plow over 3 cars and wind up losing your job or you could slide off the road and crash into a wall with 60k crushing the cab of the truck. Its all about luck.

There's bad drivers no matter how many years they have, but there is a problem from the start. The way I see if a person pays his or her money for a school that is selling CDL's then the problem starts. They then move on to a company that doesn't give a danm because it's cheaper to replace them to train them. After that the problem just keeps moving on. Schools are the first place a student is exposed to that will show them how to drive. Sorry to say there seems to be a few that could care less about what they produce. Once that person gets their CDL they are out to get a job. It doesn't matter if they know how to drive or not these schools feel they did their job when I feel they are the problem.

The numbers show that it's the new drivers that are the majority. Sure there's some old time drivers that can't drive but look who they work for. Because I've never seen a bad driver at the company I work at because they just don't keep them. They have a selection of drivers with outstanding records and you don't get to 10,15 and 20 years with a clean record not knowing what you're doing. So if you want to see bad drivers go to the companies that will hire anyone.

I don't think being a safe driver is all about luck regardless of what you drive. EVen if it is a hoveround!
