Stay away from Transport Service Co

Well it looks like you have been in the industry for quite some time, so you should know that trucking is a 7 day a week business. This is making you look like u don't want to work. I could understand if you were fresh out of school and didn't like the way this business is but with 25 yrs of exp there's no excuse for acting like you didn't know.

So after a death in the family the guy wants time off and everyone's answer is.... he should know trucking is a 7 day a week job??? REALLY???
I would have not even answered the phone after a death, esp from a wreck that would be totally unexpected!!!
My sympathies go out to you for your loss.... Shame on any company that puts a load over a families loss like that!

 

Well its this way, he had been there for 3 yrs, so he seen the writing on the wall. But then maybe he stayed to make a living, Butnwhen there's a family emergency as in a death, I would xplain the deal to them and request a load home or d/h for free to make it in, But to try and force me on another load, I'd also told them to stick it and walk. As for the ones who said you know trucking is 7 days a week have rocks in there heads, its what you make it. So it seams that those 2 dont have family or a life. I feel sorry for them.

 

25 hours - sounds like a newbie to me.

Yeah you're right, some people just don't get it. Yes if there is a family emergency yes go home that's priority but he's making it sound like he has no clue how this industry is and with 25 yrs exp that's a joke. There's no excuse for anyone with that much exp to act like they are shocked, unless they've had their head in the sand so to speak.

 

If you believe he's got 25 yrs your in trouble. Looks like another drive by poster to me. One post wonder.

 

The point is he sounds like he wants a factory job where you only work 40 hrs a week 5 days a week! And if the trucks were " junk", and all they knew how to do is "lie" and he stayed working there for 3 years well my sympathies run short.

As for his death in the family, by all means stay home or if out ask for a load home. Family is the most important thing.
