LOL While I agree he wouldn't benefit that much from the RFX75 with that radio, the difference in performance from an swr of 1.8 to 1.1 is nearly undetectable! Are you for real?
Not to mention a 1.1 swr just isn't always achievable in every case no matter what you do.

An SWR of 1.7:1 represents a 6% loss. During a raining day, I bet that SWR is higher.

How are you checking the SWR''s ?
How much have you cut off the stinger on that 2K ?
Most Ive done required 2.5 - 3.25" to bring the swr down close to 1.5,then its two to three ¼" cuts down to 1.2 without grounding the mount with a strap.

Most radios are happy untill you get to 3:1
My squaiols run 1.8:1 at 144.200 mhz and my vertical runs 1.4:1 at 146.520 it is not worth the time to play with it
UNLESS YOU ARE REALLY BOARD -
I cut off some more of the stinger, about 3/4" and have it slid all the way down in the 2k, at best I'm getting ( off my general lee ) 1.3 on the low side swinging about 1.8 and on the high side its 1.8 swinging to about 2.2ish at 60 watts so i guess its not to bad, it gets out, i just wanted to make sure i didn't blow finals lol
thanks for all the input as well.
On a side note, i went from the 10" arm to the 5" arm and that was a bad idea on mine lol, went up over 3 so i did the above and am happy with it now lol -
testing swr is done with a dead key with mic gain in the zero position with an external meter. not with built in meter and not "swinging"
