Day three is in the books. The recruiting dept heads came in today and talked a little. Took a few more tests today. Nothing major just pay attention. They spent a good portion of today covering HOS. I know a lot of people say they tell you one thing now then change it later but I truly believe you will always run legal. They have to much money wrapped up in covering logs for it to be any other way. Which is great.

    Until tomorrow. Keep it safe.

Yes I remember them being anal about that as well. The two week orientation is really a two week interview as well. So the best advice is to be respectful , look and act your best. If your goofing off and look like a slob you might not last long.

Day 4 completed. Watched the last couple videos today. The lady who handles your tuition reimbursement was in today. If you paid outta pocket by cash or check make sure you bring the receipt or a copy of your bank statement showing the money came out. If you paid via a loan then bring the paperwork for your loan with you. This is important. If you got a grant, WIA or other state or federal funding you will not be reimbursed as you didn't actually pay anything outta pocket.

Also did some trip planning and finished out the last forms. Tomorrow starts load securing.

    4 down 8 to go.

Day 5 complete. Started load securing today. Throwing straps over 13' 6" trailer, going over the different securing devices, etc. They have lots to tell you and not a whole lot of time so pay attention. You'll get the load securing test today but not the answers. They tell them to you but you have to pick them up from some movies and the instructor.

Just because you've made it this far doesn't mean your set. Your actual hire date is the LAST Friday of the 12 days.

Last 2 days we've done load securement. Did some tarping today and took the load securement test today. 73 question test and you have to list what all items you need to secure a 40,000 lb coil. You cannot miss more than 6 total or you fail (I missed 0 sorry had to gloat lol). He gives you the test Friday and then goes over all the answers Friday and Saturday.

Tomorrow we finally start driving on the range and street.

    One day closer.

Good luck. My last day will be the 21st. You won't need a copy of your GED.
