They rank right up there with the idiots who flash their brights to let ya know you're clear too.

That's the difference between now and just a few years ago. I was taught 15 years ago by drivers of 20+ years experience back then that in a truck stop you turn your headlights off when backing (out of courtesy to others) or when someone else is backing so as not to blind them. You're supposed to use your 4-ways when backing. This let's people know you are in motion. And if you need to see what's in front of you while backing you're doing something wrong.

I agree people aren't trained like they were years ago. Or maybe it's just the mentality of the people driving now all they care about is them self. I was trained by a hand with 30 years experience so I picked up on all the little things he did and showed me. A lot of this stuff is just common courtesy which sad to say but hardly anyone these days has it anymore. Like just the other day watched some kid pretty much slam a door into a ladies face at the gas station, how hard is it to hold a door for 2 seconds?

are last company was an 09 prostar and you couldn't turn the headlights off...! if the brakes were push the lights came on (daytime driving lights)

and just why is it so hard for drivers to DIM their headlights.....??? i drive at night across WY. 4 times a week and i have to flash oncomming drivers all the time to DIM their headlight and guess what 60% of the time it's big tricks that i have to flash.

and if you pass me with your hight's on you WILL HEAR on the cb "WHAT TO STUPED TO KNOW WHAT THAT BLUE LIGHT ON THE DASH MEANS...?"

When in a truck stop, and you in your truck, how many headlights have really blinded you?
    ???

And if you are sleeping, don't you have the curtains pulled?

This is such a stupid topic.

It's called courtesy. When backing in I do not appreciate looking in my mirrors or turning my head and having some moron with his lights blinding my vision. Again, someone with little experience doesn't get it.

That's gotta be about the dumbest statement I've ever read on the internet. Many times, in a dark parking lot, the shine of the lights of another vehicle coming around a corner that you can't see or traveling down a line of trucks perpindicular to you is the only clue you have. Lights on man. Any other option is a rookie option.

And this has gotta be the most arrogant statement I've ever read on the internet. As long as no one's going Mach 3 in the lot, there'd be plenty of time to react accordingly.

In nearly 8 years I've NEVER had a close call in a truck stop parking lot where I found myself saying, "Whew!! Thank God they had their headlights on!"

If after 24 years out here (as you claim to have) you still leave your headlights on EVERY time your in a lot, you are the rookie and are no better than the drivers with less than a year's experience.
