well i'm not having much luck with my other post so lets try a new one, i have read up on some of the threads here and followed some....can any of you US XPRESS company drivers tell me what ya think about it now and how it is going...miles staying busy...time off etc...i'm now having to decide if i wanna go company or not as i was thinking of the lease way to go....but really not sure about the company side...the lease side gives more freedom on where you wanna go and not go, as the company side i guess you cant say no ....

if you.....have a down payment, no bills, dont mind starving for weeks on end, and no home time.... then go for it!!!! but, dont be surprised when you STILL end up going bankrupt.

just read the forums,a large majority of the people that lease NEVER end up owning the trk...

there are alot of variables, but in the end,the company you are lease to is the one that made the terms of the contract, they set the mileage rate, they control the load board in which you will only see the loads they OFFER you,at the rate they want to pay. their fuel discounts, and most likely their mechanics "wind shield wiper replacer's"...

low miles? as a company driver you get smaller paychecks..as a lease driver it will mean NO paycheck, throw in a breakdown and you could be in the hole permanently.

your manager doesnt like you anymore? bankrupt and starving

    Highway,
I'm a company driver and i am getting miles now that i went teams. as a solo i was getting 2500-3000 a week and it wasnt enough for me, but i have the family at home i am supporting so i went teams. And i have heard good and bad with lease. I like the company and know lots of usx drivers have been here 8 plus years, and then you have the ones who dont like it. you can please everyone. i LOVE the company, they have keep me running my dispatchers have always been there for me when i needed them. and i get home when i ask for it.:biggrin_25520:

When I worked for USX, I usualy got home when I asked for my time off except if I was broke down out of my area. You should put in for your time off at least 10 days before you want to get home.
If you need to be home on a certen day, put in you want to arive a day before.
