    Hi all,
I'm an FNG to the forum world, so bear with me here.

I've got my eye on an OshKosh 6x6 in Ohio, just outside of Columbus, and since I'm about 2500 miles away, I need a good mechanic to go give her the once over.

I also am looking to have the frame (and driveline, etc) shortened up, as well as hopefully coax a little more power out of the Cummins M11. Ideally, if anyone knows of a good shop in the area, I would have the same guy who checks it out do the work.

    Any Ideas?

Thanks a lot for your time,

    Wesco

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I need an OshKosh approved mechanic so much as just a shop that is familiar with cutting and "stretching" trucks, and knows their way around a Cummins.

That said, if you've dealt with these guys & recommend them, then thanks and I'll give them a call!

I have used them and sent many trucks to them. They used to have a good reputation. They are right beside Cat and Freightliner dealers off Rome Hilliard RD and 70 West.

I had an issue with my starter one time in columbus, oh. I went to Terrells garage on the west side. They spent a couple hours looking at everything and couldn't find anything wrong. They didn't charge me anything, it ended up being the starter was broken internally. I would use them again if I'm over there in a pinch. I just asked someone the other day about frame and spring because I need an alignment, he said he has heard a lot of bad things about them and he recommended Jones Fuel or Bee Line alignment for alignment work. The shop I use and would highly recommend is The Service Co. in Covington, oh. But there about 1 1/2 hours from Columbus, I doubt you would want to pay them to drive that far. I have used Skinner diesel in Columbus also and have been happy with there price and service.

Hey guys, thanks for your responses! Somehow I missed them back when you posted, but I'm still dealing with this issue so...

Pappa Bear, what have you heard about Frame & Spring? I need more than just an alignment, I'd be shortening up a 6x6; have to cut all 3 drivelines, move the T-case, move the axles etc etc so its a pretty decent size job... and could #### near ruin the truck if it were done wrong.

    Thanks!

I haven't heard anything in detail. Just what the other driver told me that he had heard bad reviews about them. There shop looks real professional and is right off the interstate in a pricey location. They always seem to have equipment out there to be worked on so they must be doing something right.
