My company reimburses $55 a month towards cell phone bill. Actually this is the 3rd company I have worked for that does it. I doubt that most do though.

I don't think any companys pay your cell bill because it would be to much of a pain to sort our personal from work calls

I've never worked for a company that reimbursed for cell phone calls. But I have worked for a couple that gave you a company cell phone for business use only. Supposedly. I've always carried my own, so had no need to use the company phone for personal use. But I always wondered if, or how often those cell phone bills were audited for personal use.

OTOH, I remember the days before cell phones were so popular, and you had to waste time looking for a pay phone that was actually operational. I was never reimbursed for those calls either. . .

The cheapest route to go, especially for a company supplied cell phone would be unlimited talk and I'm sure that's the plan most companies have.

The fact that you cannot use it for anything other than work related phone calls is retarded. I've had a job in an unrelated field which supplied me with a cell phone, laptop w/broadband card, gas card/company vehicle and ALL could be used for personal use.

Just asnother aspect of trucking I guess...

We have company supplied cell phones. The reason we do it is so that we can get in touch with our drivers 24/7. Also the company dispatches by phone and you can burn alot of minutes like that.

About the personal calls, its hard to keep EVERYTHING seperate. We just watch the minutes and as long as no one gets crazy let it go.

Two of our guys have a company phone yet still use their personal for everything.

We get a company supplied cell phone (verizon) with 2-300 minutes, no text but it does have a camera. We used to have a cell with push to talk feature but there was too much BS between the drivers so they cut that out.
I used to have my own phone but we were out of town one night and my phone fell off the clip as I was getting in the truck and another driver drove over it. Didn't see no reason to replace as my company phone worked just fine, besides I don't talk very much anyway.

Sorry, took a three day weekend in Laughlin, NV. Yes it is the iPhone. But i don't like it. Touch screen, yuck. I enjoy my Blackberry much better. Like I said, they gave it to us for E-mail and internet access. Seems like overkill to me.
