Thanks K! Tomorrow I'm planning to rent a car, collect my stuff from the "fired drivers' trailer" at the Memphis terminal and head to Maine for a few days and then look more intently at whatever is available to me there. I've already got a few irons in the fire.
Right now I'm kicking back at the Airport Inn (? used to be Holiday Inn) near the Memphis airport.

Maybe? One of my biggest problems with being fired is that I wanted to do one full year with my first carrier. Now that that isn't gonna happen I'll move on to Plan B...or C. Plan B is to hook up with a Maine based freight carrier. Plan C is to find a carrier that hauls enough freight into Maine to give me more opportunity for home time. I've got a wedding coming up in the next few months and I'd like to be at least a small part in the preparations. (Not that my fiancee and her sister think I have anything to contribute...I'm just a dumb trucker!
)

Well HELL. I'm sorry that you couldn't leave them on YOUR terms. But knowing you, you will be right back out there on the road real soon.
So you are actually gonna "take the gas" up there in Maine? I just can't believe it. Your young, (relatively) intelligent, (obviously) and fairly well off financially, (apparently.) And you want to screw up something like that???????
