The CVSA issues those stickers not the DOT.

Never trust a mechanic. It is not their life on the line when those brakes do not work

What ticks me off is when they do a level 1 during a "blitz" and then don't give you a sticker for both the truck and trailer because they "don't have enough", then you get pulled in somewhere else because they think they need to inspect the trailer. That has happened to me at least twice in the last few years. And do they forego the inspection when they realize you just had one recently? Rarely (although I have had that occur a couple of times too... just not during the same blitz cycle).

I never received a sticker on any insp. level. however my co. just last week raised our bonus if we get a NO violations inspection. I had a level 1 2 months ago & got $250.00 it is now $500.00 for a NO violations report.

I haven't gotten one of those CVSA stickers since about..... 1995. Could care less anyway. No sticker is going to stop a "dedicated" state vehicle inspector. They have the gun and the badge. I never even ask for the sticker when I get inspected.
