    I'd like to find a Digital Multi-meter that's:
Waterproof....Freeze-proof.....Lights up better than the LCD crap that's out there for us when we're on a two-laner on US 93 in NV with only the UFO glow to light our way....

    scatruck Thanks this.

I need better/more but carry 16oz claw hammer as a tire thumper and pin looser.
A large Pliers for some things. pairs of 7/16 1/2 and 9/16 wrenches. Multi screwdriver with star bits for a lot of things. Bailing wire, wire ties, Gorilla Tape, Multi Meter etc.

I have so much, that I at time have to empty out my side pocket to find what I need. the usual, hand tools, pipe wrench, socket set, e.t.c. wire, valve stem, valve stem remover,I probably have as many spare parts as I have the tools to install them.

Looks like my side pocket, though I have 3 times as much. rarely use any of it until I take it out of side pocket, then a need arises. when I don't have it.

Has anyone had any dealings with National Tool Warehouse in Carthage MO ?. I want to buy some air tools but they`re pretty dear to buy here in Aus, so I was wondering what National is like to deal with?.

I carry tools, not parts. I get paid by the ton and the tools are heavy enough. I could probably lose 1/2 ton of tare weight if I'd empty that side box, but I know as soon as I pull a tool out of that box and leave it at home, THAT'S when I'll need it.:biggrin_25521:

Most parts stores have little pickup trucks and drivers who will bring the part out to you (pay with a credit card over the phone if you don't have an account with the store)....

....but you're up a creek dependent upon someone else to put the part on for you if you don't have the tools.

Besides....that little 24" x 24" x 36" side box is already stuffed pretty full with tools....no room for spare parts.:biggrin_25523:

when I say parts, I don't mean brake drums, e.t.c.:biggrin_2559: the heaviest part I carry is 1 brake chamber. what I mean by parts is sensors, fuses, couple dash gauges, wheel oil hubcap, 3ft of different size brake line, with the fittings to install them.
