I've hauled pipe out of Northwest. Styrofoam out of Firestone in Auroa. Air conditioners from Trane in Peublo. And that cheap ### Rocky Mountain Steel in Pueblo.

Not sure where Craig, CO is. If you're in the vicinity of Co. Springs, you can call Meyer Trucking... seven truck outfit with their own brokerage. I believe (though I'm not 100% certain) they have the brokerage contract for Siemens Water Technologies in Co. Springs. 1-800-779-1910 weekdays, 7 - 5

Mine had perfect directions. I-29, I-229, exit for 10th street & then out into the middle of nowhere. When you get the urge to engage in sexual acts with your sister, you are there.

And ofcourse, I had the baja load!

They unloaded me on the road right there. The guy from the trucking company which brokered it was all hopped up over delivery times, while the site supervisor said it made no difference. If they wanted me in Sioux Falls at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, it wasn't going to happen with a shipper who made me sit for several hours before loading me, after I was timestamped when I took on fuel with my Comdata card.

Northwest loaded me promptly. But I was also there at 7:30 in the morning.

Getting unloaded was a different story. If you been there, you will know the road. Me & another Mercer truck ran together up there. I had a 7 am unload time, his was 8.

We show up together. They started unloading us when the 11:00 truck showed up at 11:30. Now we had 5 trucks parked in the #### traffic lane. But it was cool.

I called the receiver after I got loaded. They shrugged it off and told me, "as long as you get here", so I got there around noon. They unloaded me straight away, and I scrounged some of the carpet from the racks. After that, it was right back up to Sioux Falls for a preload out of Daktronics.

I never called them. Wait, I lied! I called the foreman of the job at 9 at night.

I sat a day in Sioux Falls because I needed too.

I was just coming off of home time in CO, so I didn't need to sit. I really don't like sitting in Sioux Falls, especially. It's either Loves, Flying Dildo, or the yard in Crooks, none of which are particularly appealing to me in any way.

The driving part can be more forgiving in a way because both the truck and trailer are lower so A-you don't have as much chance of hitting bridges like in a van(although still a danger)...B-when backing you can often see both sides from both mirrors(less blind side backing). However most flatbed trailers have "California spread" so they don't turn on dime like as a van with tandems set all the way forward would do. Also you are put to greater critique from other truckers, as well as the DOT on how your load looks on your trailer so you have to a lot more stuff a lot quicker. Hope this reply is helpful for you or anyone else considering a life in the flatbed world.

Didn't it used to be that a driver held several licenses, a license for every state he drove accross?
