Thank you driver, this is a good idea, I'll call the Metro PD.. at least if I'll get in trouble they'll have it on the recordThe receiver knows, he is going to block off some parking spaces.
LandShark - it's way inside the loop: 1730 Penna NW, around the corner from WH... past the "no truck traffic sign".. I guess my company is not willing to get it passed on to locals.

Try to pull up to the white house as much as possible... It tends to keep national security in check!
-
I had to do a pickup in downtown DC once (old office furniture from the "powers that be". I guess they have to have new offices every year, and what the heck, we just bill the taxpayer)
Anyway I could NOT believe how close I was to the White House,,, and nobody said nothing. The dock was not made for a 53' so I got it in as best I could (nose out in traffic and all) and dropped the trailer right there, and still nothing was said. To add to the agita the laborers were 3 hours late! (and I wasn't allowed in the building without an escort)
Very unnerving. -
Ok, so it happend.
I did call Metro PD - waste of time, they know nothing about truck routes.. I went down at 3AM, took US 50, then Mass Ave up to dupont Circle, then 19th NW down to Penna.. wasn't that bad; you have to watch for 10' clearance at Mass and 14th, the tunnel under the circle, but you can go around it through the circle. On the way back - 18th north to L St, then back on Mass to New York Ave to US 50.
Main point is to drive there during the night!
Good Luck! Be safe! -
When ? Technically any trac. trail. needs clearence to evan think about going downtown! What was the date, cause I know t.t. are a huge national security threat in d.c. and they don't play, like you said when... ? Cause if it's recent(4 years or so), your #### lucky you got in and out without a few m-16's, ar-15's and .45's aimed at your ### talking about "hands up, face first, on the ground!
lucky guy' I'll give it to ya ha

A mini van looks suspicious to those fruit loops

My thought on calling Metro PD was to ensure no closed roads. There are no specific truck routes for DC even though we spent a couple million on a security report for congress creating them.
