I'm not saying call them up and chew them out. I'm just saying keep trying until you get someone that will listen to you. You can't be replaced for speaking up when you feel you are being made to do something that is not safe.

I know one thing, I'd never sit and roast in a truck. That's just silly.

You want drama??? call an ambulance and go to the hospital complaining of a heat stroke...that will get someones attention....but, I dont know how to bypass the automatic shut off control on the trucks with the temperature sensor..but I would definitely try wedging the clutch pedal in.

what if you wedge your tire billy on the fuel pedal? just enough to hold it at 800-1000 rpm? or wedge the clutch. ill bet that would work. but the co. probably monitors over-idle percentages. But maybe they dont....

I would find a way to make that POS idle lol

I've seen something for sale at TA called a "Throttle Stick" it's made to go between the steering wheel and the pedal it looks like it should work for ya!

We don't have APU's yet at my company but they don't care if we idle the truck either!

What they do is their choice. They could get a motel. They could quit and drive home. They could drive to a shop. They could string a hammock. They could do several things. They could tough it out with as someone mentioned a fan. They could

Their decisions have led them to this point, now they need to make some more.

That is beyond what I can understand about some trucking companies position on idling. I would love to know what company you are with so I make SURE I never find myself there. I would pray you would leave that company and go somewhere that acknowledges you are indeed a human! This may not work but what about putting truck in neutral and chocking the tires---no parking brake on to register as immobile/parked?? Best of luck to you.
