bagel bites out of Ft Myers? That place sucks... you have to back in from the street. God forbid you get the last dock next to the curb while there is a truck in the middle dock! :biggrin_2559:

Stay safe like me! Im inside a warehouse loading and unloading trucks and make local P&D runs to the airport. Today the cutoff was past for a certain carrier we contract for and I took the driver anyway and got a "talking to" about cut off time. So when I signed the bills I put his check in time before cut off. Too bad you guys dont have me working at the Walmart receiving window...lol

I was asking specifically for Central. On the in processing paperwork they inquired about being able to enter Canada. I roll with my passport also and a summer run through Canada sounds like it would be fun. I'll ask ask my DM and see what he says.

    Thanks, Zogg

Any info on Prime or Swift? I am considering one of those if I don't go with Central. I like Prime because their training is much longer and with better pay ($600/week during the 4-6month training period). I like Swift because I see so many of their trucks and know they run a lot of freight in the area so I could get home if I needed to.

I see them occasionally out on I-75 but not close to Macon. It's always near the Atlanta area.

Nomad, the fuel tax on your check is not by the gallon, it is the miles. That is where we referred to the 1.1 (or as I figure it 1.2) cpm.

The reason you see swift trucks is easy.
Central has (last I checked) a little less than 3000 trucks. This includes all trucks under their authority.
Swift has over 18,000 trucks. Which is more than double the second largest truckload company.
Also, since 90% of all swift trucks look alike they are easy to spot. Central has like 5 different style tractors on the road at the moment. And various colors. Thus you have to watch for trailers and not tractors. This makes them harder to spot.

    Dennis the Menace Thanks this.

WOW. Didn't know that is the ratio. Funny thing. I have noticed that there is a lot of stupid trucks recently. Could it be the drivers? They Not SWIFT nor any huge starter, bottom feeder, etc, etc, etc,.... that are totally rude, ignorant, stupid, unprofessional, whatever other adjective, or adverb you can apply that we see every day that do not simply find their way into a normal parking slip???? :biggrin_2557::biggrin_25513::biggrin_25524::biggrin_25510::biggrin_25516::biggrin_25511:

Didn't know Swift was out there like that! I will be looking for the trailers instead now but I am already about to catch whiplash looking at all the different trucks. I am getting good at it though because I am now able to tell the difference between Volvo, KW, Pete, Freightliner, and International! Couldn't do that 2 months ago!
