Check the coolant and make sure it's good or else the truck will shut off every so many minutes no matter what you do.

Go and cut a stick to size and jam it under the dash and onto the gas pedal. That will bring the idle up and you should have no problem running it all night.

If that don't work then cut another stick and do the same for the clutch, just to cut off the switch. Now your set. This has worked for me in every truck I have ever been in. So it should work for you. Cost to you $0.00. Cost to the company? Who cares.

If you really want to go that way, we don't need to be running around in rigs. Get your horse drawn carriage and pull that freight down the road, by golly.

Some trucks shut off sitting in traffic without setting the brakes.

I have a 2009 Prostar and it has this same system.
The truck will still shut off after 5 min. If you do not push in the clutch to bypass it.
So if the temps are high enough for it to idle it will keep running after you bypass one time. Just have to sit in the seat and watch for that shutdown light the first time.
A mechanic at my company said that 3 drivers died last year due to trucks not idling. Not sure if all were from my company. I know that one was.

Does not work on the prostar. If you sit in line for fuel more than 5 min, with the clutch down and other foot on brake. It will still shut down. Only way is the override that I mentioned in last post. If you are parked, do not touch fuel or clutch till idle shutdown light comes on. Then press in clutch. If it is not warm/ cold enough it will still over ride and run 5 min more.
