So any guesses on how much it cost me so far? I made a good deal on the truck at $8600 and it only has 175k miles on it. I bet I am around $13k invested for a 33,000 gvw pick up. I already owned the camper. Got the used bed for $700, it isnt perfect, but this is a personal truck so I dont mind scratches and a few dents.

Mr Haney has my ECM :biggrin_25522:, it should be 300+ hp, 860 tq when I get it back. I still need to find a good used upgrade turbo for the Cat 3126A. My existing turbo will work but may cause EGT issues. I installed an Isspro pyrometer yesterday...

The rear gears wear 4.33's and since I dont plan on carrying a lot of heavy loads I changed them out to 2.94's! I also switched to the Low Pro tires which I found used with 75% tread. Ok, I now have a top speed of about 78 MPH, and at 55 MPH I wind the little 3126 to 1550 RPM. Perfect for mileage I hope... I can always drop a gear when needed on hills.

It still has the Eaton 6 speed in it, I may change it to a 10 speed but since the 6 speed is strong still I will probably run it for a while. I have access to an assortment of good used trannies when/if needed. I really want a better selection of gears with the low power 3126...

I need some help with EGT's - what should the MAX EGT be on a 3126A? I am thinking 1100 degrees after the turbo??? What does CAT say? Not sure where to find that info. (really want a CAT answer).

Thanks for looking at my project! Kevin

Cat 3126A, soon to be 300 hp, 860 tq.
Eaton 6 speed road ranger - may upgrade to 9 or 10 speed.
Brakes, full air brakes. No trailer air supply though :-( may add it.
Air ride suspension, air ride cab, and front bostrom seats - not a bad ride for a light truck. Should ride better with the camper on.

I installed a air dump valve thursday evening, needed it for loading the camper etc... overall height to the top of the camper is 13' 6" with suspension aired up, I can dump the air and get down to 13' 2" when needed. Tall for a camping rig, but it is just too cool...

most people dont have a clue what it is...

    Gears Thanks this.
