I just came by Monteagle on I-24 in Tennessee a couple of days ago. The old truck stop is gone and it is now a Hess/Wilco.

Thank the Heavens....that old stop was about as sorry as they get. I went in there about a decade ago and swore never to return. I didn't.

Dang, I was in Tye a few hours ago for lunch. I didn't stop at Wes-to-go. I wish I would have read this thread yesterday so I knew to stop there.

Dysarts just south of Bangor maine, exit 180 off I95. Great food and long narrow tables. Plus they fuel and wash the mirrors/windows of your rig. They honestly respect the professional driver.

There once was a small mom and pop truckstop off Rt 3 in Concrd NH. Great homecooked food. Real neat place. I hope its still there.

You mean the one in Bow, off 3A? Dirt parking lot, tiny store and fuel desk with the restaurant on the 2nd floor? If so, yeah, their food was kick ###, they did a shrimp scampi that was fantastic.
Unfortunately, that is now a Pilot.

Lee Hi travel plaza exit 195 off I81 has been around many years. Great buffet and nice atmosphere inside. They have a working toy train that circles the dining room while you eat!

I believe it is at exit 144 on I55 north of Jackson MS. On the east side of interstate, they have a great buffet. Dirt lot but down home country folks. The Tennessean at Exit 22 on I-65 in TN. is also a great buffet and been around many years. Nice country atmosphere in the dining room. But unfortunately many are gone like Raccon Valley which was just north of Knoxville on I75. Hope you get those photos and that book put together. I have been buying postcards of old truckstops on Ebay recently.
bthomann Thanks this.
