Hello I was thinking in the future, maybe about in a few years from now I want to buy my own truck, I wanted to start just being a owner op and working for a trucking company first and then work my way into buying a trailer and running around the midwest and the south, could anyone give me any tips on how to get started, how much should I save up etc....

My uncle drives a 2002 Freightliner Century and with a Detroit 60 series engine and 430 hp. It's an old Schneider truck actually that only costed him $14,999 and he has had incredible performance from this truck. He has put 250k miles on it and has not even had to spend $1000 dollars on engine repairs since he got the truck. This is a good example of how the newest and seemingly best does not always produce the best results I believe. His truck just keeps going and going. Good luck and God bless.
